Brief Introduction of the Director General
Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman joined the post of Director General of the Department of Primary Education on 24 February 2025. Prior to this, he was working as Additional Director General (Revenue) of this department.
Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman is a member of the 18th batch of BCS (Administration) cadre. He joined this service on 25/01/1999. In his career, he started his service as Assistant Commissioner in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari. Later, he served as Upazila Executive Officer in various upazilas and as Additional District Magistrate and Additional Deputy Commissioner at the district level. He has also served in various ministries including the Health, Education and Family Welfare Department, Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment with great efficiency and professionalism.
Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman received his Bachelor's (Honours) and Master's degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 1997. He has traveled to various countries including England, Philippines, China, Australia, Sri Lanka and India for training and official visits.
Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman was born in 1970 in a respectable Muslim family in Pairaband village of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district. His father was the late Farhad Uddin and mother was Mosa Shahida Begum. In his personal life, he is married and has two children.
